   As the summer is here , time for biking i was looking for a cell phone holder for my bike and here i found this.I loved the GULAKI Bike Cell Phone Holder Bicycle Mobile Phone Mount Universal Smartphone Mount Holder .Now i dont have to worry about carrying the phone in my pocket .Additionally i can use the GPS which mean i can ride anywhere .The GULAKI Universal Bike Phone Holder Motorcycle Handlebar Mount Bike Mount is easy to install .    Had ordered an earlier version (the one with a wire frame phone clamp but without rubber strap) which didn’t seem to hold my phone (iphone 5s) securely. I returned it and was later offered this latest version to try out. This latest version was way better than the last version. Here are the pros and cons based on one ride on a pretty rough and bumpy mountain bike trail.
   Pros:
   -I was very impressed with the phone clamp mechanism. Unlike conventional spring tension, this one adds ratchets and flexible arms. To see the phone clamping arms slowly extend with a push of a button is very cool! It is functional too. It allows one hand operation – push button to extend phone arms, place phone between arms and on top of flip-out ledge, squeeze arms against the phone, push the button again to release the phone when the ride is over, and all these can be done with one hand!
   -The rubber boots of the phone arms are rubber or silicon that give good traction. Together with the ratcheting arms, my phone feels very secure. Not a scary moment during the whole ride.
   -The use of the rubber strap almost seem unnecessary. But it gives me peace of mind.
   Cons:
   -A little bulky, particularly looking from the side.
   -The clamp base has a quick detach but it was hard to align the snap feature when try to reattach. I think some self-alignment feature could help here. Also, the snap feature seems weak. The snap/friction fit between 2 plastic parts will wear out overtime, then the use of the rubber strap will become a must.
   -The bottom flip out ledge is as wide as my phone. That makes it almost impossible to get the rubber strap over the lower corners of my phone. But I can live without the flip out ledge.

   Okay,,, I have used this holder for a week and my intial review was great and 5 stars. Then,,,,,on my bike ride today, I hit a small bump on the road, nothing big but it jarred my new iphone into the air. It almost got run over by oncoming traffic. Lucky thing I had a good case for it as it took the brunt of the damage. I cannot recommend this for bike riders who may hit an occasional bump. Disappointed and hope they fix this item. My holder no longer stays closed. Returning and still looking for a better product.
