   I purchased this case exactly 1 month ago. I originally like the case. However, after a week or so, the case started to look very worn. The sides started to rub off, and the color has faded. This is a hard to remove case and doesn’t fit other cables than the original lightning cable from Apple.

   Best quality case on the market – coming from a case snob, December 6, 2013

   Okay, let me preface this review by stating that I am complete iPhone case snob.

   I own nine cases for my space-grey iPhone 5s:

   -Vaja Grip Silver
   -Tumi leather case
   -Coach leather case
   -iFrogz wooden case
   -Apple tan case (will compare to black one below)
   -Lifeproof 5s
   -Mophie Juice Pack Air
   -Evutec Karbon S

   With that said, this case – the Apple iPhone 5s black leather – is the best case I have ever put on my phone. The quality of the leather and the tolerance on the sizing from a quality control and design perspective are second to none. The leather feels better than my $200 Vaja case, $90 Tumi case and $120 Coach case.

   This is the only leather case on the market I have found that completely covers the volume rockers and sleep button. The inside of the case is lined with suede which is a nice touch. Also, as I mentioned before it fits the iPhone PERFECTLY. I have found that dust does not seep through the space between the phone and screen.

   In the hand, this case feels awesome. The leather has a decent coefficient of friction, which keeps the phone in my hand and off the ground. Also, it smells like the inside of a new luxury car!

   Now, I also own the tan Apple leather case and while I do like it a lot, it is not for everyone. It does wear more noticeably than the black case; somewhat like a nice wallet would. The tan color wears down to more of a dark shiny tan color in some areas. Personally, I like the aged look, but I know not everyone will share my feelings about this. The wear on the black case is not at all noticeable.

   The protection this case provides is adequate. I have dropped the phone a handful of times and it has not cracked or scratched. The couple millimeter rise the edge of the case gives the phone from screen’s plane provides the screen with average protection from drops.

   Overall, the quality of this case is better than $200 designer cases. Plus it is functional, looks good and feels amazing in the hand. In my opinion, best case and definitely best VALUE on the market. I highly recommend this product!

   Great start, but not a lasting item, December 31, 2013

   I was quite excited to get an apple (red) case for my new Iphone 5s. I picked one up from an apple store, and put it on immediately. The case fits perfectly, making it the best fitting case I’ve ever had. In addition, the case is extremely comfortable, and I love the feel of the leather body.

   That being said, Im afraid I cannot recommend this case to anyone. Here’s why: Durability. Ive owned my case for a month. Already, the bright, beautiful red has turned into a dirt covered maroon. I’ve tried many cleaners, and nothing will clean it properly. In addition to the looks going to heck, the actual case is deteriorating as well. The occasional (8-10 times total) removal of my phone has caused the case to break by the headphone jack. This in turn prevents the case from gripping the phone effectively, causing it to fall out occasionally.

   Though it seemed great at first, this case was not built to last. I was quite disappointed in apple for such a low quality case.

   NOTE: If you are still willing to risk a short lived case, please please please go with black, all other colors will turn to a muddy dirt covered version of its original form.
