   You cannot go wrong with this wire. I discovered Anker when looking for a iPhone car charger for my GF. I’ve read horror stories about how the cheap “not certified” wires for iPhones can lead to them overheating or even exploding. So it’s very important to me to find solid wires and charging accessories. I did some research and came across Anker. They do awesome with reviews and seemed to make quality stuff. So I bought the car charger. Upon getting that and seeing the quality, I knew I would order from them in the future. A few weeks later I needed an extra long iPod lightning wire because I plug my iPod through my iStreamer (iPod music file upgrade device) but I don’t sit within a few feet of my stereo receiver. So I looked on Amazon for a longer lightning wire and hoped Anker had one since I had ordered the charger from them. They did and I ordered it quickly. Got her within 2 days and when I took it out of the box, wow. The thing is very heavy and well made for a lightning wire. The ones you get from Apple are not only overpriced, but far inferior compared to these. You can just feel and see the quality of this wire. I can’t comment on longevity at this time, but I highly suspect that this will last me years.

   Huge fan of Anker and highly recommended.

   Ok here it is ….. the long awaited question no one has answered in the reviews so far. Is this cable compatable with the iPhone 6 otterbox defender ?
   YES IT IS !!! I was a little worried that I might have to return it due to the small diameter of the opening for the charging cable. As you can see in the photos I have included below the fit is perfect with a little room to spare although it looks like a tight fit. I have finally found a cable that is both durable and able to reach a good distance. I most definitely will be purchasing another one ! Woo Hoo !

   After becoming frustrated by the short length of my original iPad charger cord , I started searching Amazon for a longer, less flimsy one. I’m a big believer in product reviews by people who have actually purchased items and since so many people seemed so happy with their purchase of this cord, I ordered it. It arrived very quickly , well packed ,in a package that was designed to prevent damage as it made its way through the postal service. I was immediately impressed by how much thicker and better made it seemed when compared to my original charging cord. My iPad gets lots of use and the “neck” of my original cord was showing signs of possibly breaking in the near future. Best of all, I can now comfortably use my iPad for hours at a time, with the charger plugged in, and never have to worry about the battery running down…and , with the 10 ft. length, I can turn over in bed while reading or playing Words W Friends and not have charger cord come unplugged or kink the neck of the cord. As another revier said, ANKER products are true “work horses!” I figure that this cord will probably outlast my iPad. It is DEFINITELY a good buy and I’m very happy with it. I’ve enclosed a photo which compares my scrawny original charger cord to this great, thick, long BEAST of a cord. If you need a replacement charging cord (especially a nice, long one) you can’t go wrong with this ANKER cord!
