   I received the set very quickly…

   This was my first time to replace an iPhone 5 screen… It can be a little tough at first. I watched the ifixit video and used the step by step tutorial, which I recommend! (https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone+5+Display+Assembly+Replacement/10906)

   I got 98% through the process, at the very last step of gently pressing your new screen back into the iPhone body, and my new screen shattered!

   I was furious. I just spent 45 minutes and the cost of the kit, and I was back to square 1. I contacted the seller and we worked out a deal for a new kit. I really appreciated their willingness to give me a very good deal on a new kit. I received the new kit very quickly again.

   I replaced the kit without any issues! It looks and works as well as my original Apple screen.

   First off, the screen works great. I also used (https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone+5+Display+Assembly+Replacement/10906) as instructions for how to do this fix, and my advice is: go slow, be deliberate, take your time! It’s not a race. Take the time to do this right and it will work first try. Also, test the new screen before you close up the phone! This is probably the only iPhone where the screen snaps into place and will work without it fully closed, so why not give the new screen a test try before you close it up for good? This will save you a bunch of frustration if you didn’t connect something right initially…or if the screen actually doesn’t work the first time.

   Ok, so now for the reasoning it didn’t get 5 stars. First, I want it to be known that the fact that this thing comes with tools is extremely helpful, but those tools aren’t the greatest. Be warned that the star screwdriver used to remove the two outer screws on the bottom of the phone might not make it till the very end, so maybe you want to buy another one from a different manufacturer? Up to you. Second, the screen would be absolutely perfect if it came with the little plastic bezels for the front facing camera and the photo sensor. Those things are glued tight to the original screen, and they’re made out of really cheap and thin plastic….the chances of you getting them out and on your new screen without damage is very low. Plus, you’ll need to glue them in as well to get them to stay; nowhere in the instructions does it tell you this on the ifixit website, so this was kind of an unpleasant surprise.

   Even with these two issues, what can I say, the screen worked! It came pre fitted with a screen protector as well; I really appreciate that. Just some minor tweaks to what comes in the package, and it would get 5 stars.

   I was happy with this screen when I recieved it. It seemed to work well & the display was very clear, but within a week the top left corner cracked & fell out of the screen. I didnt really mind this because it didnt affect viewing the display & I didnt want to go through the hassel of ordering a new one. But later that day the touch stopped reponding & I noticed that the glass was separating from the display. Looks like a third party used cheap adhesive to construct this generic screen. The glass should not separate so easily. I don’t believe this is an OEM product.

   Also, the philips head screw driver stripped one of the screws that hold the home button in. I had to break the screen completely to get it out. Be very careful when using these tools!
