   Of all the Lightning Cables out there on the market to replace the bad quality original Apple cable, this one definitely gets the job done for a low cost. For the price of $4.98 compared to the other cables that cost $7.99, this cable is just as great in terms of charge speed and quality. This cable is also MFi Certified, and for those that do not know what that means, it means that Apple has certified this product to work with iPods, iPhones, and iPads. And because of this, I never encountered any annoying “Not Charging” or “This accessory may not be compatible” messages. Also, the quality of this Lightning Cable is superb. The cable seems coated, so it will not fray. All the connections seem secure, and the connectors don’t wiggle. Overall, this cable has definitely earned its 5-star rating. If it did not for you, then try contacting Omars’ great customer service and replacing the cable under the 18 months warranty!

   Update: After at least two months of heavy use, the cable is still in good condition and works like new.

   Bargain for a Flat Lightning cable., August 19, 2015

   I have tried my fair share of lightning cables, including the apple lightning cable, the amazon lightning cable, and several others. I prefer the braided variety of lightning cables (as they are tangle-resistant), but they are often two or three times in price compared to this Omars cable so it is not a fair comparison.

   As far as non-braided lightning cables go, this is the lightning cable I prefer. Why?
   1. Seems more durable (a bit thicker cord) than the Apple-branded lightning cables I have tried and broken many times already. However, only time can tell if this cord stands the test of time. I will update if this cord ever fails.
   2. Since it is a flat cable, it is more resistant to tangles compared to the common round cables.
   3. Since it is a flat cable, I find that it is easier to roll up and store in your backpack or bag when you are on-the-go.
   4. The lightning connection is almost as thin as the apple-branded lightning cable. I have had trouble with my iPhone case with other brands of lightning cables (ie the Amazon lightning cable) because their lightning connections were too thick and would not fit with the case on. I have no issues with this one.
   5. Charges, connects, and syncs iPhone/iPad with computer with no issues–just like the original Apple lightning cable.
   6. Comes with a nifty 3m cable management sticker/mount (cable drop) to keep your lightning cord on your table or whatever surface you desire. No other cords I have ever purchased came with this for free.

   I personally prefer braided cables, so I would most likely purchase [Apple MFI Certified] Omars 3.3ft / 1m PET Braided Lightning 8pin to USB Power and SYNC Cable Charger Cord with Aluminum Connector Head for Apple iPhone 5 / 5s / 5c / 6 / 6 Plus, iPod touch 5, iPod nano 7, iPad Mini / mini 2/ mini 3, iPad 4 / iPad Air / iPad Air 2 (Metal Red 1m) instead (also made by Omars, which I received for free to review). However, everyone has their own preferences, so if you are looking for a flat non-braided cable, you really cannot go wrong with this cable for $5.98.

   This cable is nice as an extra to use in a car or somewhere your going to be close. The cable is a little shorter then original. The cable is less pliable the the original. The plastic jacket that coats the cable feels like a cheaper plastic, but makes it a stiffer cable. I am unsure on the longevity of it compared to the original but I could see it lasting longer due to the stiffer out jacket on the cable. Other then that this cable looks almost identical to the original cable. Thanks for looking!
